DODA , DEC 25 (KNO) : It has been more than seven years since the foundation stone for the construction of the bridge in Khara area of Inderwal constituency in Doda district was laid but the lackadaisical approach of the authorities has put the project in limbo. The work on construction of a bridge in Goila area of Khara in Inderwal constituency , has been going on at snail’s pace for the last 7 years causing inconveniences and anxiety among the inhabitants and JKPCC authorities are in deep slumber . The work on the bridge was started in 2011 but remained suspended for quite some time due.The residents of Khara , Trankhal , Rajin , Hija , Bhola and its adjoining areas have complained that they face difficulties in commuting around due to the slow pace of construction work on the bridge. Some villagers alleged that lackadaisical attitude of the authorities has shaken their political faith as they feel they have been deliberately ignored.“If the Government has completed other development works which were taken up along with our bridge, then why is the construction work on the bridge lingering on for last several year. The local residents demanded that the construction on the bridge should be resumed. MLA Inderwal G M Saroori said only 15% balance work is remaining and he is monitoring this bridge construction personally.(KNO)
